The formation of humans were divided into four parts:-
1. Paleolithic Era
2. Mesolithic Era
3. Neolithic Era
4. Chalcolithic Era
A. Formation of humans
Paleolithic Era:- Remains (stone and skull) in central India show presence of an early species of man, Homo-Erectus. Archeologists think they lived in India between 200,000 to 500,000 years ago. This period is known as the Paleolithic Era. The Earlier Archeologists site in the subcontinent is the Paleolithic Hominid site in Soan river valley. Soanian sites are found in the shivalik region across india, Pakistan and Nepal.
B. Formation of modern humans
Mesolithic Era:- Modern humans (Homo-Sapiens) settled in the indian subcontinent at last 12,000 years ago. At that time the last ice age had just ended and climate became warm and dry. First settlement of human beings in india are found in Bhimbetka, a place near Bhopal (Madhya pradesh, india). Mesolithic people lived on hunting, fishing and food gathering.
This period is also called Middle Stone Age, ancient agriculture stage that existed between in Paleolithic Period (Old Stone Age)
with its chipped stone tools, and the Neolithic Period (New Stone Age).
Because of the mesolithic period it is characterised by a suit of material culture its times varies depending upon location Northwestern Europe, for instance the Mesolithic began about 8000 BC, after the end of the Pleistocene Epoch, and lasted until about 2700 BC. Elsewhere the dates of the Mesolithic Era something different.
C. Human Beings with Agricultural trading
Neolithic Era:- Neolithic agriculture sprang up in the indus valley region around 7000 years ago, in the lower valley around 5000 years ago.
Later, in south India, agriculture spread southward and also into Malwa around 3800 years ago.
"Neolithic age was the age in which there is a development of human technology, beginning about 10,200 BC, according to the ASPRO chronology, in some parts of middle east, and later in the other parts of the world and ending between 4,500 BC and 2000 BC".
D. Human Beings with Stone Material
Chalcolithic Era:- It is also known as Eneolithic period which saw the use of the metals among which the copper was first. It is also called Chalcolithic which means use of Stone As well as Copper was prevalent in the period. The earliest settlements of Chalcolithic period. The earliest settlement of the Chalcolithic period range from the gangetic basic to Chotanagpur Plateau.
It is covered the region of modern Maharashtra expects the part of vidarbha and the coastal reign of konkan.
